Sauna & Banya
At the center of ATAIA is the banya, the living heart of Eastern European bathing culture. Dry radiant heat builds slowly, drawing tension from the muscles and quieting the mind, until water poured over fire-hot stones releases waves of soft, enveloping löyly steam.
It isn't simply about warmth. The banya is a rhythm of heat, cold, and rest, repeated, that leaves the body lighter and the mind noticeably clearer. We've honored that tradition and given it a home worthy of the ritual.
Inside the experience
Finnish Sauna
Dry, radiant heat with authentic löyly steam poured over hot stones to open the body and settle the breath.
Infrared Sauna
Gentle infrared warmth that reaches deep into the muscle at a lower air temperature. A softer, more comfortable heat for longer, restorative sessions.
Korean Clay Sauna
A traditional hwangto clay room radiating mineral-rich, enveloping heat that draws out impurities and leaves the body grounded and renewed.
Banya Sauna
The heart of the tradition: intense, humid heat paired with the signature venik ritual of fragrant oak and birch leaves to deepen circulation and release.
The venik, the platza, the light
Traditional Venik Ceremony
An authentic banya ritual using steamed birch or oak venik bundles to rhythmically guide waves of heat and aromatic steam across the body, followed by restorative cooling.
Royal Platza
ATAIA's ceremonial expression of the banya. Steamed oak or birch venik guide waves of heat across the body, concluding with black bread, salo, spicy mustard, caviar, and an optional ice-cold toast.
The ritual of contrast
Warm slowly in the sauna until the body softens, the shoulders drop, and the breath grows deep and even.
Plunge into cold water to invigorate circulation, awaken the skin, and sharpen the senses in an instant.
Settle into the lounge between rounds and let the body find its new, lighter equilibrium.
